Alpaca

Alpaca

Alpaca belongs to the South American camel family. This species, living in the Andes Mountains, is grown naturally at very high altitudes by breeders called Campesinos. Alpacas eat very gently, without pulling the grass, so as not to damage their roots. Compared to other herd animals, they leave much smaller traces in nature.

Alpaca feather is known for its excellent insulation properties, lightness, shine, softness and silky touch. Alpaca is hypoallergenic as it contains a small amount of lanolin. Since Alpaca is a partially perforated fiber, it is lighter than standard wool and offers a stronger insulation.
