Linen

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) Global Organic Textile Standards are the worldwide leader in textile processing standards for organic fibers, including ecological and social criteria, and are supported by independent certifications throughout the entire textile supply chain.

Linen fibers are one of the oldest fibers in the world. Flax fibers are extracted from the skin or inner bark of the stem of the flax plant. Linen fiber is soft, shiny and flexible. It is stronger than cotton fiber but less flexible. The best grades are used in sheet fabrics such as trims, lace trim and lining. The coarser grades are used for rope and twine. Due to the new processing methods and the increase in the price of cotton, the interest in flax has increased in the industrial fiber field.
